As mentioned in last week’s Journal, I’ve completed some changes. I essentially didn’t like the direction the blog was heading, and wanted to focus more on storytelling.
Storytelling is very close to me because stories are what have inspired me through life. Listening to the struggles people go through and how they overcome them just brings me joy. That’s why I decided to pivot like I did.
Here’s what changed and how I’m balancing my schedule.
What Changed?
The first thing that changed was my mission, which is now at the footer of my site. I placed that there to always remind me of the new mission.
The new mission is simple: I want to inspire you and help you overcome your fears. I’ve learned a lot throughout my years of failing, and I want this to be a location where people can come for inspiration and to keep going.
Next, I updated my About Me page to reflect the new idea.
Going forward, my posts will feature stories about my life that will hopefully help you move forward. I’ve been through a lot, and I feel more comfortable and authentic talking about my past experiences and how they can help you out. Although researching topics and writing about them was fun, I felt like I would eventually burn out.
Balancing My Schedule
You may not know this, but I’m currently taking a night class for work, going to work full time, being consistent on this blog, and taking six classes in a semester for my bachelor’s. It’s a lot, and it would be insane to add any more.
However, I’ll be starting a side project with my wife shortly. It’s going to be a unique travel blog/vlog called Wanderlust Roamers. The site is not currently up as it’s still a work in progress, but I’m saying all this to let you know that it’s not impossible.
Yes, I don’t have much time for friends or other things, but with the proper dedication, I believe you can achieve what you set out to achieve. When I started this post, I didn’t really have what I was going to write in mind; however, now I see that “balancing my schedule” should deserve a full post.
Stay tuned for that upcoming post on time management, and thanks for reading. I hope my journey inspires you to do great things, and I hope to hear about them in the comments.
