Doubt can be a motivational crusher. There’s nothing worse than being inspired only to have your mind doubt what you’re doing.
Too often I doubt my skills and what I’m doing. Does it matter? Will anyone actually see it? Am I just wasting my time? However, the most important step is to keep pushing on. Overcoming your mind is vital for powering through this.
Powering Through Doubt
As I continue to create valuable content, I balance it with a full-time job to cover my needs. During my work hours, doubts often creep in, making me question if I’m on the right path.
It’s challenging to silence that inner critic and push through the negativity, but it’s something we have to do to keep moving forward. In the past, many of my businesses failed because I let self-doubt get the best of me.
But after a day or two, I found my motivation again and got back on track. It’s just that initial barrier that’s the hardest to break through. It’s like when you’re hungry.
When hunger strikes, your brain sends signals telling you to eat. But if you ignore those initial signals, eventually, your brain gives up, and the hunger fades. I learned this while practicing intermittent fasting, though that’s a topic for another time.
Pushing past that initial barrier, whether it’s doubt or hunger, is all about persistence. Just like how your brain eventually quiets down when you ignore hunger pangs, the same thing happens when you push through self-doubt. The key is to stay focused on your goals and remember why you started in the first place. Every time you overcome that noise, you’re one step closer to success. So, keep working, and stop doubting yourself. Trust that your efforts will pay off. After all, the only way to truly fail is to give up.
